The War and Peace Nebula

The War and Peace Nebula (NGC 6357) is a diffuse nebulous complex in the constellation Scorpius. It lies some 8,000 light-years away. At the center of the image is the open star cluster Pismis 24, which contains some of the most massive stars ever recorded. (20-inch PlaneWave corrected Dall-Kirkham reflector, FLI ProLine PL09000 CCD camera, Hydrogen-alpha/RGB image with exposures of 15, 3, 3, and 3 minutes, respectively)
