The Pinwheel Galaxy - Although other galaxies have tried to lay claim to the moniker “Pinwheel Galaxy,” M33 in the constellation Triangulum is the original. And why not? Its longest dimension spans more than 1°, and it shines at magnitude 5.7. That brightness makes it just visible to a sharp-eyed observer from a dark site. (10-inch Orion astrograph at f/3.9, Canon 550D DSLR, the final image is a stack of fifty-nine 1-minute exposures at ISO 6400, twenty-four 2-minute exposures at ISO 800, and eight 2-minute exposures at ISO 1600)
