January 2007: This month, Venus takes the spotlight.
Last month, I challenged you to identify the body in this image. If you guessed the photo depicts the Moon, you're wrong! While our satellite exhibits phases, the difference in size is not nearly as dramatic as this view. Note that the disk is uniformly white, lacking our Moon'sdark maria, or "seas." This mystery object is our planetary neighbor Venus.
