Rangers work to preserve the dark night skies above our national parks.

| Light pollution affects more than just amateur astronomers' ability to observe, it impacts the ecosystem on a grander scale. In an effort to assess that impact on some of our nation's last remaining dark-sky sites, the National Park Service formed the Night Sky Team which inventories light pollution and identifies its sources. |
