Videos from the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show
Listen to meteorite dealers talk about their favorite subject.
May 24, 2010
In "Hot rocks ignite collectors' passion" in Astronomy's July issue, Editor David J. Eicher provided a recap of what's currently going on in the meteorite world. He based his story on a February trip to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. In the process of collecting information to write the story, he also interviewed several meteorite dealers at the show.
The Fukang meteorite is an example of a pallasite, a meteorite that has olivine crystals (peridot) surrounded by a nickel-iron matrix.
