NGC 1579 - The Trifid of the North (NGC 1579) lies in the constellation Perseus the Hero. This cloud of gas and dust resembles the much more well known Trifid Nebula (M20) in Sagittarius. NGC 1579 lies approximately 2,100 light-years from Earth.
