Every 13 to 15 years, Earth passes through the plane of Saturn’s rings, causing them to nearly disappear. This sequence of images taken over the last decade shows how the tilt of Saturn’s rings to us has narrowed The next ring-plane crossing occurs in March 2025, although Saturn will be too close to the Sun (just 10° away) for ideal viewing.
