Natural satellite

The First Quarter Moon rises at midday and sets at midnight (or one hour later if Daylight Saving Time is in effect). If you point a telescope at it, concentrate on the line that divides the lit and dark halves. Known as the terminator, this is where sunrise is happening on the Moon, and it’s also where shadow detail is best.
