Bill came to Astronomy after earning his master's degree in journalism at UW-Madison and his bachelor's in science writing at MIT. A man of many interests, Bill performed in several musicals at MIT, and he served terms as president and music director of the MIT Marching Band. A girl he met then, Liz, somehow found the combination attractive, and didn't mind dating and even marrying him. They still enjoy musicals and currently live in Madison, where Liz is working toward a Ph.D. in medical physics.Bill, a native Puerto Rican, always found astronomy and math particularly fascinating, but he's also worked for Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and The New York Times Student Journalism Institute. While at UW-Madison, he was the Science editor of The Daily Cardinal, and while at MIT he was the Campus Life editor of The Tech. He also can juggle.Bill always wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid, but he figures working at Astronomy is the next best thing.
