Few sky events can compare with experiencing a total solar eclipse. Unfortunately, many amateur astronomers have to enjoy these events vicariously because seeing one, more often than not, requires long-distance travel, time away from work, and deep pockets. But there is one fantastic solar eclipse wonder that you can search for every day with your unaided eyes. I’m talking about “shadow bands” – the most mysterious and animated of all eclipse phenomena.
