The Shark Nebula is a tough catch for astroimagers. Though just 650 light-years away in Cepheus, the Shark’s constituent objects — like the dark nebula LDN 1235 — are extremely faint. In this LRGB nightscape, it looms high over the Kottamia Astronomical Observatory in Egypt. The imager used a 2-inch refractor and 20 hours 45 minutes of exposure time.
