An example of the auroralike phenomenon known as STEVE (strong thermal emission velocity enhancement) cuts across the Canadian sky, intersecting the Pleiades (M45). The 15-second exposure was taken with a Sony a7R II at ISO 1200 and a 24mm f/1.4 lens.
