In the June 2010 issue, Steve Cullen wrote the story “How an amateur astronomer captured a black hole scoop.” In it, he shared how he imaged the region of Cygnus X-1, a well-known black hole in the constellation Cygnus the Swan. His images showed features that even professional observatories failed to capture.
