Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, seen in this image taken by the Rosetta spacecraft on January 31, 2015, originated from the solar system’s distant Kuiper Belt. Until last June, NASA was strongly considering a sample-return mission to Comet 67P, but instead opted to proceed with a mission that will send a large rotorcraft to Saturn’s moon Titan.
