Valeri Polyakov poses for his crew portrait for Soyuz TM-18, which launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome Jan. 8, 1994, and docked with the Mir space station Jan. 10. Polyakov spent the next 437 days aboard Mir, making it the longest single spaceflight to date.
