The Sun’s next-door neighbor, the Alpha Centauri triple system, lies 4.2 light-years away. It contains two Sun-like stars and a red dwarf. Alpha Centauri A and B are overexposed in this image so the third member, Proxima Centauri (Alpha Centauri C), is visible.
