Tau (τ) Ceti lies 12 light-years from the Sun. At magnitude 3.5, it’s one of the few nearby stars visible to the naked eye. Two of its four planets may lie within the star’s habitable zone, a region where liquid water could exist if the planet has a high enough atmospheric pressure.
