A strong wind blows from the pulsar PSR B1509–58, exciting the surrounding supernova remnant to glow brightly in X-rays. The neutron star spins nearly seven times per second and lies some 17,000 light-years from Earth in Circinus. In this composite view, X-rays show as gold and infrared radiation appears as red, green, and blue.
