Just like the eruption of Barnard's Star, the red dwarf star GJ 3685A unleashed an intense flare. Circular and linear features appearing below and to the right of GJ 3685A are detector artifacts caused by the flare's extreme brightness. Scroll to this page's bottom to see a video of the eruption.
