Soaring through space

The Seagull Nebula refers to the region of nebulosity cataloged as objects NGC 2327 (the gull's head) and IC 2177 (its wings). This image comprises three panels, each representing roughly forty-five exposures of 300 seconds each for a total exposure time of over 11 hours. A dual-bandpass Hydrogen-alpha and Oxygen-III filter was used to block light pollution.
